About me
My name is Mirjam Terhoeve, a certified cat behaviorist and proud owner of four cats. I know better than anyone how special, but also how complicated, cats can sometimes be. I now have 25 years of experience with cats.
I was trained at the Tinley Academy and am affiliated with the SPPD, the leading quality label for animal professionals.
Mission of Cattitude

Cattitude stands for offering various services aimed at addressing a wide range of behavioral problems in cats, as well as sharing knowledge about species-specific behavior in cats.
My mission is to bring cat and owner closer together.
By teaching cat owners to understand what their cat is trying to communicate with its behavior, aimed at improving the cat's overall well-being.
Cat behavior and behavioral problems
Behavioral problems in cats can arise for various reasons. A cat may be living in an environment that does not meet its natural, instinctive behavioral needs. It is also possible that a cat learns unwanted behavior, or has never learned to cope with certain situations. Additionally, a cat's behavior may be misinterpreted by the owner.
Your cat may exhibit behavior that feels like problem behavior to you, perhaps frustrating you or causing you concern. For your cat, however, his behavior is often a signal. He wants to make it clear that he wants things to be different; in other words, his living conditions do not align with his species-specific behavior. Together, we will figure out what your cat is trying to communicate with his behavior and how you can redirect it toward desired behavior. So that you have peace in your home again and a happy cat.
Does your cat pee or poop outside the litter box, is he aggressive or anxious, or does he attack other cats in the house? This behavior may seem troublesome, but there is usually a clear cause. Together, we will find out why your cat is doing this and how we can change it.
Services

The online consultation is intended for short questions about your cat. Sometimes this online consultation can be scheduled sooner than an in-person appointment. It is also possible that a behavioral consultation will still be recommended.
